Tipperary ladies Gaelic Football Notes Inter-County With all the league sections of the Munster under age Championships played the following are Tipperary’s remaining interest. Our under 14 team played three games and had two wins against Limerick and Clare with one defeat to Waterford in the B championship. In the A championship we were defeated by Kerry so we have now qualified for the Munster B final against Waterford which will be played in Waterford on the 5th May Our under 16 team has played three games with two wins against Limerick and Clare and one lost to Waterford in the Munster B championship. We have now qualified to play Waterford in the B final at a Tipperary venue on the weekend of the 7th July. Our under 18 team were graded A and were beaten by both Cork and Kerry in the Munster championship which ends our interest in this competition. Our thanks to all the girls on the panel and their parents for their efforts in preparing for this year’s competition. Many thanks to John Keenan, Tom McCarthy, Josie Meaney, Dennis Connelly and Catherine Meaney for looking after this team. Our Intermediate team have stepped up their training under the watchful eyes of Sean O Donavan Una O Brien and Eamon Ryan in preparation for the Munster Semi-Final against Kerry at a Tipperary venue on the 9th June and the first round of the All-Ireland Intermediate championship on the 1stJuly. Club Championships Over the next two weeks we will finalise all our under 16 championships A,B,C and D Cahir will play Moyle Rovers in the first A Semi-Final and Templemore will play Clonmel Commercials in the other. Both these game will be played before the weekend 28/29th April with the final played on or before the 7th May. Cappawhite defeated Fethard in a B semi-final at the week end 5-8 to 1-11. They will play the winner of Aherlow verses Brian Borus which is due to be played before the week end 28/29th April with the final played on or before the 7th May. Two quarter finals in the C championship were played last week end. Arravale Rovers defeated Boherlahan and Ardfinnan had the better of St. Ailbies Emly. Semi-Finals will be played this coming week end with Mullinahone playing Arravale Rovers and Moycarkey taking on Ardfinnan.May 7th is the dead line for the final to be played. Upperchurch have qualified for the D final after they beat Ballyporeen. Sliabh Na mBan and Upperchurch will play out the final on or before 7th May. May 13th is the date fixed for the finals of Senior Intermediate and Junior A leagues. Junior B, C, D and D shield leagues finals are pencilled in for May 20th. |
