MUNSTER SH AND SF CHAMPIONSHIP TICKETS
 
Tipperary play Kerry in the Munster SF championship at 2pm and Limerick in the Munster SH championship at 4pm on Sunday May 27 at Semple Stadium. Tickets are now on sale through clubs, online at tickets.ie and ticketmaster.ie and through selected Centra and Super Valu stores.  Ticket prices are €30 for covered stand, €25 for uncovered and €15 for terrace. Concessions for OAPs and students will apply on stand tickets only, they will get a €10 refund at specified stiles on the day on production of valid ID. Family tickets (Adult uncovered - €25, juvenile - €5) are available in the Old Stand only and should be ordered through clubs or online. There are also club group discounted ticket schemes – adult groups at end of covered stand cost €25 per person for minimum order of 15 per club, adult groups at end of uncovered stand €20 per person for minimum order of 15 per club and group terrace at €10 per person for minimum order of 20 tickets per club.  All club groups should be booked directly with the County Board through the club secretary. These attractive ticket packages are designed by Munster Council to make it affordable for as many people as possible to attend this double header.
 
 
MUNSTER COUNCIL FOCUS ON FAMILIES
 
Once again Munster Council has special packages available this year for families. In 2011, over 30,000 family tickets were sold for Munster Championship matches. For the upcoming 2012 Munster Senior Hurling Championship Quarter-Final and Semi-Finals, a family package of 2 adults and 2 children will cost €60 (Uncovered). The same family package will cost €70 for both of the Munster Senior Championship Finals and an increased allocation of family tickets for all ticketed games will be made available. Munster GAA in conjunction with our sponsors will provide Family Zones complete with Face Painting and other fun activities to enhance the experience for both parents and children attending selected games. Watch out for Match Day Greeters known as Munster Guides who will be on hand to help you at every venue. Details will be confirmed in advance of the selected matches.
 
 
SKODA TIPPERARY SUPPORTERS EVENING
 
You and a friend could be in with a chance to attend the first Skoda Tipperary GAA Supporters evening of 2012 which takes place onThursday May 24 at Ryan Motor Power Skoda dealership in Clonmel at 7.30pm. There will be Tipperary GAA Legends in attendance on the night for a panel discussion with MC Paul Collins (Today FM) as we look forward to the championship double header against Limerick (hurling) and Kerry (football) in Semple Stadium on Sunday, 27th May. You will be invited to take part in Questions & Answers with Paul and the Legends, avail of the free hospitality from Skoda and be in with a chance of going home with some new Skoda Tipperary GAA gear. OPENING OF CLONLARA GAA FACILITIES
 
Tipperary edged out their Clare hosts by a point (2-12 to 1-14) in an entertaining senior hurling challenge at the official opening of the Clonlara GAA facilities on Sunday night last. We would like to thank Clonlara GAA and Clare County Board for inviting Tipperary and their hospitality on the night.
 
 
TIPPERARY CLUBS DRAW
 
The promotion of the Tipperary Clubs Draw is actively underway in all clubs throughout the county at present. The draw is a fantastic way to support your club and county and also give yourself the chance of winning some great cash prizes along with cars, holidays and TVs. The cost remains at €100 or €10 per month. Please contact your local club or the Draw Co-Ordinator, Ger Bradley at the GAA Office in Thurles on 0504 22702 for more details. This is the 25th anniversary year of the draw and there will be special prizes on offer to mark the occasion.
 
 
TIPPERARY SUPPORTERS CLUB GOLF CLASSIC
 
The Tipperary Supporters Club held a very successful annual golf classic at Co. Tipperary Golf Club at Dundrum House on Thursday andFriday last. The Supporters Club would like to thank all those who sponsored teams and tees for their great generosity and continued support for Tipperary hurling. It is much appreciated. The main prizewinners were 1st with 96 pts:  Andy Lacey / John Keaty Team – Noel Lacey, Jimmy Nolan, John Keaty and Noel Keaty;  2nd with 95 pts: Garrabridge Team – Conor Gleeson, Peter Kennedy, Ger Flanagan and Seamus Hickey; 3rd with 94 pts: Coolmore Team – Bobby Houlihan, Bobby O’Loane, Chris Coen and David Lawton. Longest Drive was won by Cian O’Mahony and Nearest the Pin by Martin McKeogh. The presentations to prizewinners were made by John Tierney, Chairman of the Supporters Club. Other speakers included Sean Nugent, Chairman of Tipperary County Board and Declan Ryan, Manager of the Tipperary Senior Hurling team. Special mention was made at the presentation of the late Chris Lacey who died in recent months and was a great supporter of the classic and other fund raising activities. Along with Frank Fitzgerald he was always joint sponsor of the Garrabridge team which finished second. Chris’s nephew Noel Lacey and three other relatives were members of the winning team which was sponsored by Supporters Club founding member and long-time promoter of the golf classic, Andy Lacey and his nephew John Keaty. MC for the prizegiving was Joe Tuohy, Supporters Club Secretary. Thanks are also due to the Crowe family and their staff at Dundrum House for the excellent arrangements as always and also to Eleonore Tuohy and Sadie Tierney for looking after team entries and the draw respectively.

The May County Board Meeting will take place on Tuesday May 22 at the Sarsfields Centre at 8pm.
 
 
TIPPERARY SUPPORTERS CLUB ALL IRELAND UNDER 16 HURLING
 
The Tipperary Supporters Club All Ireland Under 16 Hurling Tournament for 2012 was launched at Dundrum House Hotel on Thursdaylast by Liam O’Neill, Uachtaran Cumann Luthchleas Gael.  Also present were Chairman of Tipperary County Board, Sean Nugent, Chairman of Tipperary Bord na nOg, Joe Kennedy, other officers of both boards and representatives of participating counties. MC for the event was Neil Ryan, PRO of Tipperary Bord na nOg. The tournament will be played on Saturday and Sunday September 1 and 2 with the group stages at North Tipperary venues with the finals at Semple Stadium subject to availability. The Groups drawn were as follows: Group 1:  Galway, Waterford and Offaly; Group 2: Laois, Dublin and Clare; Group 3: Antrim, Tipperary and Limerick and Group 4: Wexford, Kilkenny and Cork. The top team in each group qualifies for the semi-finals with the second placed team in each group qualifying for the shield semi-finals.
 
 
GAA RECORDS BOOKS FOR AMAZON KINDLE
 
‘Alan Kerins Project’ and ‘Playing for Life’ are pleased to announce the launch of four new GAA books by L O’Dare on Amazon Kindle: 1) GAA Senior Hurling Championship Results; 2) GAA Senior Hurling Championship Players; 3) GAA Senior Football Championship Results; 4) GAA Senior Football Championship Players. The results cover all 40 county units and the entire period from 1887 to 2011, in county sequence. The players (7,000 hurlers and 11,000 footballers) include all those from the past 50 years in county sequence. Each county has a records section.
